Wait...Rewind the Tape Natalie and Ruth

We could not record over the festive period, so it’s a week late, but better late than never (we hope). Here is our review of the year 2022 (on a planet that’s estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old). This is our season finale, and the last episode for a while, so buckle up.
We cover subjects we’ve been avoiding at all costs because we were either tired of hearing about them or because we were living it and couldn’t deal (cost of living crisis, we’re looking at you). Also, some important issues on the world stage, that we have not been able to cover thus far.
Domestically, it’s been a messy year in the UK with 3 PMs in 3 months, the country's infrastructure falling to pieces, rising interest rates, extreme heat, and poverty wages. Fun! And of course, the monarchy… There have been a lot of high-profile men doing the most the world over, so much so, we had to condense them into a list.
Finally, as always, we talk about ourselves, because at its core, that’s what this self-indulgent podcast is about. Enjoy!

This week we watched 2022’s biggest made-for-TV Christmas romcoms so you don’t have to! We review Netflix’s ‘Falling for Christmas,’ starring Lindsey Lohan. Then the very British, ‘You’re Christmas or Mine’ from Amazon Prime. And finally, Sky’s offering, ‘This is Christmas.’ Such diversity in names, tropes, and themes… LOL. As always, take the word ‘review’ with a pinch of salt. We cannot stress enough that these are not recommendations. Enjoy!

This week we’re doing a no-spoilers review of the best TV of the year. All our favourite shows and films that we watched on the small screen. If you are looking for something new to watch, or like us, watched an alarming amount of television, this one is for you.

Boy, we are really milking this franchise! This week we watched Rings of Power, the Amazon Prime original series (can you imagine saying that sentence 10 years ago).
We give an honest review that we are not qualified to make, and discuss the plot points we missed, watchability, continuity, love stories, performances, and of course unbelievably hot elves/dark lords. There are of course some inevitable comparisons to the original...
More importantly though, we discussed hinge profiles and the Disney sequel Disenchanted!

Lord of the Rings Part 3:
It’s the final part of our Lord of the Rings trilogy mini-series. We compare Frodo and Sam’s final stretch to day 3 of a festival, come full circle on Gollum, and discuss whether Frodo meant to destroy the ring (and if it even matters). We also discuss some funny rotten tomatoes' reviews at the end. Enjoy!

Lord of the Rings Part 2:
We start with a short, no-spoiler Black Panther: Wakanda Forever review. We talk about arguably the best film in the LOTR trilogy, and ask the important questions like, ‘is Frodo’s savior complex out of control yet?' And end with the most random conversation that has no correlation to the rest of the episode. The standard formula.
