    Alex LaPlante is currently the interim Head of Borealis AI, RBC's R&D lab for artificial intelligence, where she and her team build leading-edge AI solutions to complex, high-impact business problems. Previously, Alex led Borealis' business development and product management teams, which saw her design the company's long-term product vision and build strategic partnerships with RBC stakeholders. Before joining Borealis, Alex held a number of leadership roles at the intersection of technology and finance. Throughout her career, she has provided thought leadership around AI ethics and developing robust enterprise AI systems. She holds a PhD in operations research from the University of Toronto.

    Kristin is the SVP, Analytics, Insight, and Strategy at Cossette Media whose passion lies in making data and analytics accessible to everyone and truly rooted in real human insights. Starting her career at the CBC, Kristin developed a deep respect for establishing processes, building content, and using data to truly support and positively impact Canadians from coast-to-coast. Since leaving the CBC in 2016, she has continued to champion the development of Canadian-specific solutions and encourage conversations anchored in the needs of Canadians. Following developing the first TV/Video single-source Canadian dataset in partnership with Numeris for the Sochi 2014 Olympics, Kristin moved into the agency world, first at Wavemaker and now at Cossette Media, where she and her team have won multiple awards for innovation and leadership, working daily to integrate evidence-based solutions into her clients’ businesses and mentor young talent into the world of analytics, insights, and strategy.
