    So, You Want a Relationship

    So, You Want a Relationship

    Summary:

How well do you know whom you will be relating with?

Are you willing to truthfully communicate?

Will you become best friends and commit to each other with all you are?

Having an honest foundation enables the building of a strong, healthy relationship.

    Show Notes:

Do you bring flowers or chocolates to a potential girl friend? Is she allergic to flowers, does she hate chocolate?  We do not want false starts.

For a marriage, did you talk before being married? Did you discuss your Plans, your dreams, your desires? How well did you communicate?

In communicating one must be brutally honest. Truth is the most important thing in a relationship. If you cannot be truthful with the person you want to relate to, it will usually come out in a way you would not expect. This is what causes rifts and divisions in a relationship.

Become best of friends, be a partnership in everything. Relationships have challenges and blessings, being a partner will help each other through them all.

         27.  To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

    Notes:

Cupid is a Roman god, the Greek god is Eros

    Worship Part 1

    Worship Part 1

    Summary:

There are many facets to worship, not just singing. There is an attitude that releases our love and adoration to our Father, giving back to Him what we have received.

We were created by God to be His worshippers.

    Show notes:

    • Worship is much deeper than just music or singing. The Holy Spirit is at the foundation of our worship.

    • The baptism in the Holy Spirit has opened a door for us to worship; speaking in tongues is helpful.

    • The Holy Spirit teaches us how to worship in spirit and truth.

    • You focus on God and your relationship with Him, and you will spring forth in worship.

    • In our relationship with God, we are to be in an attitude of worship, in His presence.

    References:

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

    John 14:6

    Colossians 3:23

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,

    Quotes:

    • Worship is more than just giving yourself in a mental ascent.  It is our spirit directly connecting with the Father.

    • Worship is not a difficult thing, it is very, very simple.  Opening your heart and expressing your love for the Lord.

    • It is how you see the Father; we submit or subject ourselves to Him and to His Lordship

    Take away:

In this phase of our discussion of worship, we find that it is with the help of the Holy Spirit that lets us worship in Spirit and in Truth and that we are not to worship from afar, but as we are in His presence.

How Do You See Christ Today?

How Do You See Christ Today?

    Summary:

How do we see the Lord?

Our depictions restrict who He can appear to us.

He is so much more that we can imagine.

    Show Notes:

     • When Steven was stoned he said He saw the Son of God at  the right hand of the Father.

     • Find a revelation of who Christ is, who the Father is, and not  have a false image of who Christ as.

     • When people do not have a relationship with Him, they draw  on history.

    • We also need to know who He really is.

     • God said no images. • Seek the Lord to know Him.

     • Who Christ is, is still unfolding before us. We are still  learning what He did for us.

    • Christ and the father and the Holy Spirit are invisible to us and there is a reason for that.

     • If you have an image of God, then you lock him in to that  depiction of how you see Him.

     • The liberty of not knowing what He looks like allows God to  be to us what He wants to be.

    References:

Acts 7:56 56 and he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing  at the right hand of God.”

Mark 16:19 19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into  heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.

    2 Corinthians 5:14 14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all,  therefore all died;

     1 Peter 3:18 8 To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and  humble in spirit;

Hebrews 7:25 25 Therefore He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through  Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Leviticus 26:1 1 ‘You shall not make for yourselves a idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an  image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I  am the LORD your God.

1 Timothy 6:16 16 who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no  man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

John 14:12 12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do  also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

1 John 4:20 20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who  does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

1 Peter1:8 8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see  Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

Colossians 1:27 27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this  mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

John14:23 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and  My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

    Quotes:

We need a relationship of Christ and who He really is.

Those who have an image of the Lord on a cross or pictures of  Jesus, it is a lack of revelation of where the Lord is.

    Take away:

Find a revelation of who Christ is , Who the Father is and not a  false image.

No one knows what He looks like,  We know He is a Jew. Having a crucifix, or a picture in your mind would tend to create a  passivity toward knowing Him.

If you have an image of God then you lock Him into that depiction  of what you see Him as.

    Creating Relationships With God's Love

    Creating Relationships With God's Love

    Summary:

Relationships start with God’s love. Everything in God is based on relationships.

He wants people to love with His love.

Friends and acquaintances are important, a simple smile can create a lifelong relationship.

    Show Notes:

Do we want to create relationships? Do we tend to be arrogant and make others feel inferior? The Pharisees knew the scriptures, and we learn that “The letter kills but the spirit gives life”.

Right relationships start with receiving God’s love. He wants people to love with His love. God Freights our words with His Spirit and we are to just speak and/or make eye contact with a smile, which are means to impart His love. Relationships are what matter; they are far more important that having all the answers. The age and or experience level are irrelevant, it is the relationship that ministers.

Expect to hear God speak through another, God flows through people. Right relationships are created by a word from God.

    References:

    1 Cor. 3:6-9

    6. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.

    7. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth.

    8. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

    9. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

    2 Cor. 3:6

    6. who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

    1 John 4:9-13

    9. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

    10. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

    11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

    12. No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

    13. By this we know that we abide in Him and He is us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

    1 John 4:19

    19. We love, because He first loved us.
