E-collar Ban qeustion
Hi Tom. First of all. I love your podcast. You could easily choose to charge money for this podcast but you don’t. That fact proves to me that you’re in this game for the dogs, and not for the money. Now to my qeustion.
I live in Denmark, and e-collars are unfortunately banned here. How would you go about teaching a reliable recall without one. Would a vibration-collar with different levels do the trick, or should i just bite the bullet and get an e-collar despite of the ban?

Hi Tom. Thanks for the content. You are the my go-to trainer whenever I have a question!
Now, to my question!
I have a 8,5 month old male Aussie that is very well behaved. Of cause he is a teenager and is testing us out, but he’s not overpowering us. He’s friendly, lives everyone, people and animals, doesn’t herd bikes or cars, lives in an apartment and get at least 6 daily walks. He is crate trained.
We have a cat though. She’s 3. From day one (9 weeks old) he has herded the cat. She can not make a sound or step foot in the floor or he’ll run after her, bark boop her with he’s nose. He does not nip her. He’s clearly happy when he does so. She scratches him but he does not care one bit.
She can climb stuff and we have baby-gated the bathroom for her to have an escape.
We have tried so many things. Positive training, small corrections, hard corrections, Caesar Milan style corrections, going to his place/down, crating him as a correction. Nothing sticks to him next time she moves. I need help with this one!!
