In this episode we look at the proper way to read the Bible. Hermeneutics is the study of biblical interpretation, and surely that is a necessary part of properly reading the Bible, but there is also a heart attitude. The acronym for this talk is WELCOME. Worship, Listen, Context, Meditate, Explain.

In this episode we take an introductory look at how a person who does not know Biblical languages is able to benefit from many the tools which are available.

It's not as boring as it sounds. As a matter of fact, it is one of the most useful (and fun!) Methods of interpreting old testament poetry.

In this episode we look at what is called the grammatico-historical method of interpretation. It is something you will run across when reading certain Christian literature. This episode will give you a very brief description of what it is, so that you can better understand what those authors are talking about. Our acronym is TGC. Time (language changes over time), Grammatically rules apply, and Cultural Context.

GeTMA: Genre, Type of Speech, Meaning, Application. The Bible is to be interpreted "literally" (according to the letters), in other words, it is to be interpreted as literature. Poetry as poetry, history as history, etc. Then we must recognize hyperbole, parable, etc. Finally we look at the difference between Meaning and Interpretation.
