Are you searching for some amazing music, but you can't bear to sift through all those elitist-sounding music reviews out there? Join theatre artists and music enthusiasts Michael and Tyler on their quest to find the perfect album. Each week they invite a guest (or two) to share stories about the music that made them who they are AND to suggest what THEY believe is the perfect album. An album so brilliant that "10 out of 10" just doesn't do it justice.

Ep 73: Corin Wells Nominates Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory"
On this week's sick new episode, Corin Wells is taking us one step closer to the edge with Linkin Park. We're stoooooked about it.
Corin is a comedian, writer, comedian/writer, and an all-around gem of a gal. We couldn't be happier to have had her join us to spell out exactly why Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" stole her heart. She hits every note from the strength and ferocity of the late Chester Bennington's voice to their sound's unique ability to welcome in audiences who may not have had a great love for heavy music BLP (Before Linkin Park). Come for the Chester, stay for the appearances by JC Chasez, John Legend, and....Pikachu?
This is a wild one, dear listeners. Corin brings the heat and the heart in equal measure. But will her case cut the mustard and earn a spot for "Hybrid Theory" in the TOGT11 pantheon? Join us and find out!

It's that time again, our latest installment of Back to 1! This week, Tyler reflects on his softboi roots with a meditation on Death Cab for Cutie, running along Highway 1 in Big Sur, and the fine line between the sincere and the saccharine. Hope you enjoy.

Ep 72: Sarah Bell Nominates Death Cab for Cutie's "Codes and Keys"
What's that you hear? Is it the sound of settling? No, it's the sound of this week's guest Sarah Bell proclaiming the perfection of Death Cab for Cutie's 7th studio album, Codes and Keys. An unlikely choice? Maybe. But Sarah doesn't care, because according to her, your opinion is correct. And so is hers. Confused? You should probably just join us underneath the sycamore and listen to what Sarah said. We can't promise a movie script ending, but we do guarantee a great conversation.

Ep 71: Derick Loafmann Nominates Paul Simon's "Graceland"
If you bring us albums, we will be your newfound pals. We can call you Derick, but only if you're this week's guest, and you've brought Paul Simon's Graceland before the tribunal.
Derick Loafmann is part of the "Mike Crowd," for those of you keeping score, and unbeknownst to him, he was around for the very inception of this podcast 24 years ago. He's talking about a 5-star album that means a great deal to him. It's got A TON of world-class musicians on it - Ladysmith Black Mambazo, alongside some other great South African and Lesothan musical artists; the Mexican-American group Los Lobos; and Louisiana's own Good Rockin' Dopsie and the Twisters (to name a few). While it may seem like an easy task to talk about this beloved Grammy Award-winning album, there's a sea of controversy around it. The question is, how do you reconcile loving the album of an artist who committed a few sins? It's a question Derick's been wrestling with for a while now, and he's ready to talk about it.
But can he finally tell the difference between Paul Simon and Chevy Chase? Tune in and find out.

Ep 70: Aldo Melo Nominates Weezer’s “Pinkerton”
This One Goes to 11, much like the Fast & Furious film franchise, is all about family. And we’re welcoming the brother of Season 2 guest Nitza Melo before the tribunal today: the wonderful Aldo Melo! Aldo is a creative hailing from Miami, FL. He has worn many hats in his life and currently calls Northern California home after a good long stretch in Seattle.
The album he brought for our consideration was considered a big flop when it was released, but time has given it a new much-admired stature in the story of 90s alternative rock in America. We’re talking about Weezer’s sophomore effort "Pinkerton". The album was born of frontman Rivers Cuomo’s desire to follow 1994’s "Weezer (The Blue Album)" with something decidedly more personal. His time as a student at Harvard and complications from a serious leg surgery imbued the album with a raw, at times discomfiting, sense of isolation and frustration. This contrasted the swinging guitar hooks and anthemic pop power of many of the songs, leaving many critics and listeners perplexed.
Aldo takes up the case for this album in a spirit that feels quintessentially him. He hasn’t doubted the album for a moment since its release, connecting deeply with its sincerity and the way its foibles paint a complex picture of a rock star publicly dealing with many of the fears and insecurities any of us might. Aldo is generous, warm-hearted, and funny as hell. It was a privilege to have him on and welcome him to the TOGT11 family. I think Vin Diesel would approve.
But will Aldo’s case have what it takes for Pinkerton to make it into the pantheon? Buckle up with us and find out!
