The northern kingdom of Israel suffered through many evil kings, none worse than Ahab and his wife Jezebel. Into this evil kingdom God called Elijah to stand against the sin and apostasy of the northern tribes. Elijah's testimony of God's authority and power to the disobedient tribes provided a test of faith and obedience - but the real test was found in Elijah's heart.
