Welcome to Aaron & Ava Save The World. Today we will be talking about LGBTQIA+ Rights and how the election could affect those rights. We have 2 male candidates who are both running for the presidential spot in office.

These two candidates have very different values and beliefs, so these rights could be changed or removed, based on who is elected into office. This is why your vote matters! Vote on November 3rd to help your ideas be reflected through who’s in office! And if you’re not old enough to vote, you can use social media to tell people about issues you think are important.

Coming out was a hard experience because, even though I knew that my parents were very liberal and supportive of the gay lifestyle, they might have thought differently with me.

People in the lgbt+ community face discrimination every day. In some cases, friends and family might not accept them, or, in this case,  we have government officials who don’t accept them. If we put an official in office who is not at the least an ally, we will face so much more discrimination. We might even get our rights taken away. This means that 4.5 percent of the population will lose their rights to express themselves sexually or gender-oriented. If we take away these rights, 14 million people in America alone will be affected. Chick-fil-a is known to be discriminatory to the LGBT+ community and has donated to many anti-LGBT groups.

    POV You support Chick-fil-a

Hi Susan! What are you doing today

Nothing Much, just dropping by Chick-fil-a to get some chicken nuggets and fries

Oh my Lanta! I love Chick-fil-a and the causes that they support.

I know right! As a mother of 2, I really don’t want my kids to be associated with that lifestyle!   .

I was supportive of LBPTQ when I was younger, and my daughters are, too.

Oh yeah, I was the same way at their age.

Well, could I drop by Chick-fil-a with you?

    Of course!

Ya know, I support their causes because, even though I don’t hate LBPTQ, I really don’t want to see them in the street.

    I totally understand.

    Thanks, Susan!

    No problem, Karen!

Anything for my fellow middle-aged white woman!!!

This is what probably goes down between 2 white homophobic moms. I am not a mom, nor am I homophobic. I can’t really be, seeing as how I’m gay.  Me too Now, back on our topic, Chick-fil-a is homophobic. But Mike Pence and Donald Trump are also very homophobic. They have been associated with Chick-fil-a multiple times and Mike Pence has donated to many anti-lgbt/conversion therapy groups. Trump has opposed the equality act, appointed homophobic judges, denied healthcare to queer people, made schools less safe, and given them less access to housing. Pence has said many homophobic things and believes that being gay is a choice.

We think that we should elect an official who will bring these problems into the light.Otherwise, we will live with these problems for at least another 4 years, if not more. Keep these rights safe. This will help 14 million people keep their rights to express who they are. We encourage you to vote and tell others to vote. Stay tuned for next week’s episode! BYEBYE
