Democrats are trying to pass a $1.9 trillion stimulus bill through Congress, to help the economy recover from COVID. One of the provisions in this bill was a national $15 minimum wage, but after being struck down by a Senate parliamentarian, Democrats have backed off from raising the minimum wage, at least for now, in favor of passing the giant stimulus. The Democrats control the White House, the Senate, and the House. Despite holding slim majorities in Congress, the Democratic Party is poised to pass new bills and eliminate the Senate filibuster.  The Republican Party is split between the Never Trumpers and the Trumpist Republicans, who might split into their own party.
