The Lord speaking to the Twelve Apostles said, “Go ye and teach all nations.” (Matt. 28:16) And again, the Twelve are “called to go into all the world to preach my gospel.” (D. & C. 107:18)

 

“The Twelve will have no right to go into Zion, or of her stakes, and there undertake to regulate the affairs thereof…but it is their duty to go abroad and regulate all matters relative to the different branches of the Church.” (T.P.J.S., p. 74)

 

“They [the Twelve] are to travel and preach among the Gentiles, until the Lord shall command them to go to the Jews.” (D.H.C. 2:200; see D. & C. 107:33)

 

“What, says one, no seats provided for the Twelve; is not this their home? No, their homes are all over the earth preaching the Gospel, building up the kingdom, regulating the affairs of the kingdom of God upon the earth; and we take them in as visitors. Are there places to be provided for the Seventies? No, but for the First Presidency and the local authorities and not for the traveling ministry. The Twelve and the Seventies are travelling quorums to all the inhabitants of the earth.” (Brigham Young, Des. News, June 6, 1877)
