Episode 5: Live with a Craftepreneur

Welcome back my faithful listeners. I haven’t said it enough over the past few weeks, but thank you for following along with my ECrafting Podcast. It has been fun getting to write and share about two of my loves – Branding and Crafting. I’m hoping that with the irreplaceable knowledge you have gained from my episodes, you are well underway with a branding strategy to take your passion for the handmade art and share it with the world. Maybe you have big plans for it and maybe you just set some short term goals, either way, I have complete confidence in your ability to rock some socks off. That said, I’m not going to preach to you today. For our last episode, I want you to hear from special guest, Chris Federico, a once upon a time at home crafter who has gone above and beyond to bring the world of handcrafted art to you through her store front business and social media strategy. It is amazing the way that she started with something small and then innovated it into some amazing and successful ventures. You will not want to miss this!

Episode 3: I'm a Pinterest and Craigslist Junkie

Episode 3: I'm a Pinterest and Craigslist Junkie

ECrafting: A podcast that tightens the gap between social media and crafting, encouraging you to build YOUR brand.

Episode 3 - How to navigate Pinterest and Craigslist on the way to your next project (i.e. I'm a Craigslist and Pinterest Junkie)

Thanks for tuning into the third episode of Ecrafting. If you are new to the podcast, let me fill you in on what we are blabbering about. Last week, we reviewed how to use social media effectively to market your craft by encouraging you to tell your story with every project and to communicate with your fans. You can listen to past episodes by scrolling down and finding them along with their show notes.

This week we are going to talk a little more about using Pinterest to find a fun project and then bringing it to life by finding what you need at yard sales and on craigslist. If you are like me, as I am sure most of you are, you loooooveeee pinterest. If you are not like me, don’t fret, I’m sure you have something else really cool going for you…I hope. Anways, Not only can searching pinterest find you step by step instructions on how to distress your old ugly side table, but you can also find ideas for party themes, a recipe for dinner that night, there is just so much you can find on pinterest. All of these ideas end up on boards, that basically serve as these mythical “to do lists” that you know will never get done. But once in a blue moon, you get a crazy itch and pilfer through your boards for just the right project to take on. And then that is where craigslist will come into play.

Tune in to hear the rest!

Episode 2: Using Social Media Effectively

Episode 2: Using Social Media Effectively

Taking your in-home, passion and talent for crafting and putting it out there for the world to see, and buy of course, is a scary and overwhelming endeavor. There are several ways you can do it - from setting up booths in small retail stores to traveling around to craft fairs and exhibits. However, all of these take a lot more effort, and money, than you might think to manage. Making the jump from crafting for fun to crafting to make money is a lot harder than one might anticipate.

So, all that said to suggest that maybe you try building your audience, value and brand through social media first before setting up an actual, in person retail space. Selling through social media helps to minimize the risk because YOU are in control of what you are making and how often you are making it. You can easily become successful through your “social selling” by using the social media outlets effectively. I know there are a lot to choose from, but I’m mostly talking about Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.

Give this podcast to listen to hear more about how you can use social media effectively to market your craft.

    E-CRAFTING: Social Media Success [ECTEASER]

    E-CRAFTING: Social Media Success [ECTEASER]

An introduction to a new podcast from Amanda King, E-CRAFTING: Social Media Success. As I am sure you are aware, social media has done monumental things for the art of craft and artists over the past few years. In this podcast series, we discuss the following (keep in mind this teaser is episode 1):

Episode 2: Hear a few tips on how to use or start using social media effectively to market your craft.

Episode 3: I want to share some of my favorite go-to resources when i'm looking for my next DIY project. Blogs, craigslist, stores, etc.

Episode 4: Learn how to use social media to build YOUR brand as an artist. No matter what your skill or craft of choice is, you want your audience to fall in love with you. That way, when you try new things, they will like them simply because they came from you. Better yet, maybe they will stalk you, waiting on your next move.

Episode 5: Hear from, in my opinion, a top notch craft-eprenuer about how she turned her garage hobby into a booming business with the help of Facebook.
