In this episode, I talk  about living a life of love by leaning into righteous living.  What is righteous?  What does it mean? How does it look when we put it into practice? Can we express this kind of love in the world we have today?

In this episode, I talk about a higher calling of love.  How do we express a higher calling to love in this moment in our lives when everything is so divisive? What does that look like?  Can I love others without disappearing?  Am I able to maintain love when I am around people who are filled with hate? In this episode, I talk about the potential impact it has when our allies and our own community stand silent. We are at a crossroads of being erased. It is vital that we stand up and out (when safe) to support our LGBTQIA+ community and our marginalized friends and family. We need everyone, our allies and members of our community to be on the ground to verbally support our right to be who we are and to support the message of equality and equity for all. Allies and LGBTQIA+ community, let’s support each other from our hearts and also by standing, marching, and voting for our right to be authentically who we are created to be in this world.

Matthew Roach repeatedly prayed to God, ”take me out if you’re not going to fix me.” The despair has turned into joy as Matthew realized that prayer wasn’t answered because he didn’t need to be fixed. He just needed to embrace his authentic self, which is hard enough--and then--he had to deal with his very conservative Baptist parents and his extremely homophobic pastor when his truth was told before he was fully prepared to be outed.

In this episode, I share a beautiful and provocative sermons by Lauren Kay entitled ”Who Are the Least of These?” I am called to love, to love my enemies, to be what Jesus taught me to be...and yet...I fall short of that mark more and more as this political and national crisis is heating back up again during this election year. Lauren’s sermon reminded me of what I am called to be and do and I believe it will resinate with you.  Be LOVE and still fight the fight.

In our walk with the God of our understanding, we are faced with difficult calls, choices, voices from our families, friends, and society. Sometimes we are faced with ridicule, hatred, and loss of family and friends because we are LGBTQIA+ and/ or going back to church. In this episode, you will find we are not alone with all the questions and uncertainties as followers of Christ.
