From Concept to Client: a CEO's Journey to Creating Impact in Mental Health Tech
How do you rebuild yourself after a serious injury that challenges your whole identity? How do you decide on your next step as a founder? How do you build something that your clients truly need and will actually use and value? These are some of the questions I discussed with my today's guest, Augusta Klingsten Peytz.
Augusta is the Co-Founder and CEO of the Mental Health Tech start-up Aesel, which offers a SaaS tool for therapists to monitor and visualize the progression of patients. Augusta has a background in venture capital and management consulting. Most recently, she supported a German mental health VC fund and, before that, worked at Boston Consulting Group. Augusta is driven by impact, and Aesel is her 3rd impact start-up. Previously, she founded the Female Leadership Academy - Denmark's largest leadership education for young professionals.
In this episode, you will learn about:
Augusta's discovery of a surprising way to remember who you are after an 8-month recovery journey post-concussion
her eureka moment that led to the birth of Aesel
growing a healthy separation between you as an individual and your startup
what to focus on as an early-stage founder, and what does it mean in practice
Stay safe and #standwithukraine,

If you as a leader are feeling like your business is a bullet train going full speed on tracks you have no control over, stop. Take a breath. And let's talk about what it means to lead teams and organizations in 2024.
Bill Dickinson, a former Roman Catholic priest who left the priesthood to be more authentic as a leader and show up as a whole self which included coming out as a gay man. In this episode, you will learn about:
why you can't bypass working on yourself to practice empathy towards others
how can leaders design their teams and work to promote employees' continuous learning
the issues with top leadership that we both decline working with

Overwhelmed As a Leader? 3D Leadership Framework Is Here To Help You
Being a leader is very hard. Managers need to navigate the constantly changing business context with new strategic directives, employee turnover, new technology, etc. Outdated one-size-fits-all approaches to leading, irrespective of the team members' background, group dynamic, and leaders' personal needs and preferences. Conflicting priorities of different stakeholder groups that have to be juggled and combined without any adverse effects on the team's productivity. And as a cherry on the cake, the classical lack of time for leader’s important, yet not urgent tasks.
I developed a simple framework and self-assessment that has been helping my clients and workshop participants to get out of overwhelm for over 3 years now. We break the complex leadership role into three dimensions and examine each of them. You quickly see the patterns - what are your strengths that you are ignoring but can leverage even more instead; which areas actually stress you out, and how can you put intentional effort into improving those.

Knocking Toxicity Out of Gaming - with Dana Sydorenko
Are online games for losers only? Is it where sociopaths go to hide from real world? You can think what you want of gaming but it is here to stay. I know brilliant and successful entrepreneurs and leaders (including some of my clients) who are gamers in their free time. And today's guest of mine is a fantastic example of a gamer who is successful and valuable in the real world.
Dana Sydorenko, Co-founder and CEO of a social platform for gamers, GameTree, believes that toxicity issues in gaming are not because of the nature of the games, nor is it due to the audience it attracts. Instead, it is a highlight of the issues our society has overall. By making the gaming world feel safer and more inclusive, GameTree can teach individuals, businesses, and our society as a whole how we can tackle these issues.
In this episode, you will learn about:
Dana's learnings from her time as a paramedic in the Ukrainian Army, and how she is using them in her entrepreneurial journey
GameTree's social engineering philosophy and practices that companies can apply for creating inclusive, healthy culture
Dana's recent listing on Forbes' 30Under30 list and what it means to her

Fed Up Looking for That Work-Life Balance? Let's Redefine It
For years, we have been discussing that mysterious work-life balance. Some manage to find it, often through a major crisis or burnout. Others don't resonate with the term and think it is counterintuitive. Yet if this term is so unhelpful, why is it so sticky?
I am a nerd for definitions. And not the dictionary ones, but the ones each of us carry in our subconsciousness, defining the ways we think, act, react, dream, plan... well, do anything. So in this episode, we dive into exploration of the definition of "balance". I offer you a new perspective for this concept, to make it more flexible, playful, realistic, and useful in our everyday realities.
