What makes writers from our corner of the world here in Leeds, Yorkshire in the north of England unique and delightful?
The Leeds Lit Fest (March 4-8, 2020) and host Peter Spafford (Director of Words at Chapel FM Arts Centre / East Leeds FM) takes you "yondering" around our city with some of the Leeds area's most enchanting writers: Malika Booker, James Nash, Seni Seneviratne, Rommi Smith and Boff Whalley as part of the lead up to this year's Leeds Lit Festival.
Join us for rambles with writers through the streets of Caribbean Chapeltown, the windswept Otley Chevon, the Kirkgate Market, Leeds Library and other literarily inspiring locations and explore the connection between places and writing.
Later we'll produce podcast programmes on writing workshops during the Festival.

Leeds Lit Fest podcast host Peter Spafford goes on a ramble with Malika Booker through the parks, libraries, nail salons, churches and streets of Chapeltown, Leeds and discover the connections between a sense of place and fruitful writing. Malika Booker appeared at the 2020 Leeds Lit Fest as part of the festival's Launch Party in February.

Seni Seneviratne conjures her family's past in Holbeck
Leeds born poet Seni Seneviratne journeys back in time with host Peter Spafford to explore her family's mixed-race (Ceylon and Yorkshire) history in Holbeck and other settings in South Leeds, stirring up legacies of the British Empire, reflecting on the power of musicians such as Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald to evoke memories, reflect on the power of poetry and what's over yonder for her.
