Episode 1 of NY to Paradise: creating your own success, is titled "The Power of Observation". We speak with Cha McCoy about her passion for travel, culture, and wine. She is an engineering consultant, innkeep manager, and co-founder of The Culture Bazaar Group. She addresses some misconceptions about travel, finding her passion for wine, and becoming a local while living in Italy for 2 years.

For Cha McCoy living in Italy and her experience with wine cultivated her interest in wanting to create businesses around wine, culture, and travel.  
Exposing yourself to new experiences forces you to become innovative in your approach with how you navigate business. Your observations are part of your learning which is why it's important to manage your surroundings so they are filled with positive and purposeful experiences. Her love for simply browsing magazines for inspiration gets her excited about her work and makes her hyper aware of what she would create as a business and how she would share it with others.
As this episode is titled; The Power of Observation, remember to take time each day to sit and reflect on how you plan to use your personal experiences to create your vision.

We spoke with DJ Rampage Global about how he created his brand, his foundations coming from Belize, the importance of knowing what he wanted to do, marketing himself by doing the work and being a change for youth.

DJ Rampage Global believes that learning and having the ability to share what you learn with others is important. There is no lack. There is no need to hoard information. If you are in a position to help others, why not? Help comes in different forms, it could be mentoring, it can be giving a person an introduction, sharing your process with others or simply being an ear to listen. For me, I would not have the exposure to certain opportunities without others sharing what they know with me.

Episode 3 of NY to Paradise: creating your own success is titled, "The Shift: Employee to Business Owner." We spoke with Sakina Williams; who spent years working in the publishing industry, as a writer and editor,  the shift for her occurred two years ago when she decided to start her own yoga practice; BK Buddha. She has been a yoga practitioner for over 20 years and currently teaches Yoga Theory and Application at Seton Hall University. She expresses how her 6-week trip to India to study with a yoga guru left a lasting impact and how she plans to use that experience to build her practice.

The fear of starting a business can be nerve wrecking but once you take the steps, and are able to help others- You learn quickly that is what fulfills you the most. Sakina departed from the publishing world and transformed her 20 plus year yogi experience into to creating her own yoga practice. Many of us sacrifice for security, even when being an employee may not be what we need or want. However, when you do make that shift towards being a business owner you have to be prepared to expect the unexpected. Regardless of the obstacles and risks, learning something new every day becomes a thrill that gets you closer to realizing your dreams. So, embrace your journey no matter how or when you start!

Finding positive and helpful advice may seem so easy living in a world of google and youtube. There are many self-proclaimed experts who will only tell you what you want to hear versus what you need to hear. You must work through the clutter. The best thing to do is to utilize your natural talents, whatever you are good at while strengthening your areas of weakness. I strongly support mentorship and mentoring, however, being responsible with where you seek guidance, advice, and instruction is critical to your own personal growth. Davon’s quote is all about learning that sometimes not all advice is good advice. Through his work in music and business on Anguilla with developing and driving the creative sector, he is an example of what it means to define your own inner power. Your power is what you can create and how you use it to positively influence others.
