    Episode 8 - Martha Waters

Welcome to Episode 8 of Wonderful Writers, a podcast dedicated to sharing some of our favourite authors and their wonderful books!

This week, Alice wishes to tell people why they should read Martha Waters, an author who debuted with her first historical romance in 2020. Waters is one of Alice's auto-buy authors, someone she admires greatly, whose debut novel got her through the UK's first lockdown. In between gushing about how amazing Waters is, she and Anne discuss the books, the characters, their covers, the possible title choices for future books (before realising after recording that Waters' 3rd book title has already been published!) and, as always, there is helpless giggling & some fan-casting for any future film adaptations!

    Lynsay Sands

Welcome to Episode 7 of Wonderful Writers, a podcast dedicated to sharing some of our favourite authors and their wonderful books!

For this episode, Anne has chosen historical and paranormal romance author, Lynsay Sands as her subject! Filled with admiration for Sands and love for her dozens of novels, Anne explains to Alice why the Highland heroes mean so much to her, tropes Sands writes really well; castles are mentioned many times, and Beauty and the Beast and Downton Abbey are also a key discussion point. She also recommends some books that Alice may like to start with if she decides to read Sands, and the joys of Scottish humour are revered.

    Lenora Bell

Welcome to Episode 6 of Wonderful Writers, a podcast dedicated to sharing some of our favourite authors and their wonderful books!

In this episode, Alice declares her love to the world for Lenora Bell, another shining star that makes up the beautiful night sky of historical romance authors. Alice discovered Lenora Bell & as soon as she started reading the novels, she couldn't stop & her admiration for Lenora Bell is very present in this episode as she explains to Anne how much the books mean to her & how fabulous they are. There is a lot of manical laughter in this episode, a lot discussion of spies, great title choices, hate-kissing, brilliant plots, an explanation as to why everyone needs to read Bell's books & the Diet Coke advert - we can't be the only ones who remember it!

If you would like to see the Diet Coke advert, our personal favourite is this one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJqkHL95JZs - but there are many more versions - we particularly enjoyed the Indiana Jones one!

    Episode 4 - Rhenna Morgan

    Episode 4 - Rhenna Morgan

Welcome to Episode 4 of Wonderful Writers, a podcast dedicated to sharing some of our favourite authors and their wonderful books!

In this episode, Alice discusses Rhenna Morgan's contemporary romance books, bringing us exceedingly alpha gents, love stories surrounding mafia men and their fiesty, strong female equals & an unsual hero name - Trevor! Anne reads very little contemporary (her imagination & heart are always stuck in the 1800s) & is a complete dark romance virgin, so it is up to Alice (who is more adventurous & brilliant with her reading choices) to explain all of the amazing characters in these books, & convince Anne to give the books a try! We discuss men who look after their mothers, alphas being imagined as giants & ask the important question, why do all these men lose their shirts on the covers of these books? (we don't need an answer, we just ponder it sometimes).

In this episode, Anne discusses her adoration of any and all books written by historical romance author Eva Leigh. Alice has never read an Eva Leigh romance, so Anne explains why Leigh is one of the best authors ever published, whilst gushing over some of the prettiest covers ever printed. There is a serious (?!) discussion on the possibility of someone delivering a Duke to Anne, admiration of red ballgowns, a plethora of 'thank yous' and you could probably create your own drinking game for the amount of times the word 'orgy' is mentioned!
