On today's podcast, It's Only Sport host Martin Devlin goes rugby league heavy with one of the Warriors' very best players joining the show - Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad. The 28-year-old talks all about his side's dip in form lately, their clash with the Knights in Newcastle this weekend, his own game, and much more.

As well as that, Devlin shares his thoughts on David Havili being selected at first-five for the Crusaders in Super Rugby Pacific this weekend, and revelations by coach Rob Penney that the selection was requested by All Blacks coach Scott Robertson and his colleagues. Could Havili be a realistic option at first receiver for our national side in 2024?
Then, former Black Cap Simon Doull talks the New Zealand squad named for the Twenty20 Cricket World Cup, Triple M's Greg Martin talks rugby, league and mother's day, and snooker MC and broadcaster Rob Walker recaps the quarter-finals at the World Championships at The Crucible. All that and much more!

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad: Warriors' poor NRL form, dealing with 2024 expectations, & more

Warriors fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport, ahead of his side's NRL match-up with the Knights in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors are in need of a win, enduring a three-game slide where they've lost two and drawn one. Two of those matches - against the Manly Sea Eagles and Gold Coast Titans - have been played in Auckland. Things get tougher for the Mount Smart club, with their next three matches all outside of New Zealand and against sides who played finals football in 2023. Nicoll-Klokstad discuss with Devlin lessons learned from their defeat to the Titans, his own game at the moment and areas he feels he can improve in, dealing with high expectations for the 2024 season, and more.

On today's podcast - which features a number of great guests - It's Only Sport host Martin Devlin is particularly excited for one in the form of longtime All Blacks halfback TJ Perenara. The 32-year-old chats all about his recovery from an Achilles injury suffered in late 2022 and how he's managed to get back into the All Blacks selection picture for 2024.

Before that though, Devlin delivers a sermon on swimming. Tuesday was a good day for Kiwi swimmers with the New Zealand Olympic team named for Paris 2024, but a dark cloud continues to hang over the sport, following recent revelations Chinese athletes were somehow cleared of doping despite testing positive for banned substances before the Tokyo Games in 2021.

As well as that, Swimming NZ high performance coach Gary Francis joins the show to talk the naming of that Olympic team, Rugby League Hour co-host Tony Kemp delves into Jason Demetriou's sacking as coach of South Sydney, and Wellington Phoenix veteran David Ball talks the team's viewing plans for tonight's Central Coast-Adelaide United A-League football clash that'll decide the winner of the Premiers Plate.

Plus, Devlin and producer Lachlan Waugh discuss Demetriou and the wider NRL, Perenara's All Blacks chances, the NBA playoffs, and more on the Tight 5. All that and much more!

TJ Perenara: Recovery from Achilles injury & return to form, 2024 All Blacks aspirations, & more

Longtime All Blacks halfback and Hurricanes legend TJ Perenara joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport in a special interview, as the Super Rugby Pacific regular season nears its end. The 'Canes suffered their first loss of the year against the Brumbies last weekend, but still sit top of the table with an 8-1 record. Perenara chats to Devlin about that Brumbies defeat and how the team has responded during the week, his road to recovery from an Achilles injury suffered in late 2022, his form of late that has him squarely in the All Blacks selection picture, how his training routine and diet has changed as he's gotten older, and more.

Let's Be Positive with Matt Gunn | April 30

Matt Gunn out of Twizel joins Martin Devlin on It's Only Sport on the segment Let's Be Positive, where both men do their best to put a positive spin on all the happenings in sport recently. This week, Gunny and Marty discuss the Warriors form in the NRL and whether there should be concerns around their top eight chances, the Highlanders beating the Western Force in arguably the worst game of Super Rugby ever, and Fox Sports pundit Paul Kent's weekend brawl. Gunny also has a heart-warming story to tell about his family dog Chloe.
