The most entertaining and enraging stories from mythology told casually, contemporarily, and (let's be honest) sarcastically. Greek and Roman gods did some pretty weird (and awful) things. Liv focuses on Greek and Roman mythology's (mis)treatment of women, the wild things the gods did, and the all around incredible minds of the ancient world. Gods, goddesses, heroes, monsters, and everything in between. Regular episodes every Tuesday, conversations with authors and scholars or readings of ancient epics every Friday.

Incredible educating feminist podcast, perfect for mythology nerds

This podcast is amazing.

I have always loved mythology, and consider myself somewhat of a mythology nerd. I have read dozens of mythology books, listened to other podcasts etc. Yet Liv manages to bring a fresh perspective to the whole thing ! I have been listening to her podcast for three years now, and every episode brings me such joy ! I am always happy to hear her telling myths (the well known ones, but also and especially the lesser known ones).

This podcast is incredibly educational, funny and it’s really well made. You can really feel Liv’s passion about mythology, and her feminism too.

She tackles one of the things that has bothered me the most in mythology: the deep misogyny of certain stories and the general poor treatment of women. This is something that i felt wasn’t really recognised or acknowledged until I listened to this podcast ! She never fails to mention when a character’s actions are unacceptable (by today’s standards), which is really refreshing. No more « perfect hero » image, she really offers a whole new perspective when it comes to sexism and misogyny in the ancient world. She’s breaking the patriarchy one myth at a time.

The fact that she managed to make as many episodes as she has despite the limited amount of stories to tell (though there are a lot more than we think) astonishes me. They are all always so interesting. The « conversation » format is incredible. The guests are really well picked too.

I have recommended my podcast to pretty much everyone I know, and will not stop doing so. It’s educational, feminist, and Liv’s witty humour always makes my day.

Liv’s amazing, her team’s work is amazing, the podcast is amazing… If you haven’t yet, go listen to Let’s talk about myths, baby !!

Amazing podcast

I used to be obsessed with Greek mythology when I was a kid and this podcast just revived this obsession. The stories are well told and I love the bonus rants about the condition of women.
One of my all times favourite podcast!

Love this podcast

I got (back) into Greek mythology pretty recently and decided to try and become actually knowledgeable about it so I went looking for a podcast and went for this one - I’m so glad I did! It is so informative, so fun to listen to, and I absolutely love all of Liv’s witty comments and criticism (especially the feminist perspective). I’m only 20 episodes in and I can’t wait to keep discovering new myths and have more fun!
