36: Perimenopause, Back Pain & Big Boobs with Dr Nikki Delglynn Goddess Got Goals

Why is Perimenopause brushed over by medical professionals leaving women in their 40s and 50s often feeling left out at sea, strung out and even a little bit crazy?
Dr Nikki is going to share her very intense but not uncommon story about her journey through perimenopause.
Dr Nikk is a menopausal mother of 2 girls, an avid exerciser and a Dr Osteomyology, specialising in Menopause Health, Wellness and back pain.
Beginning her  journey into Women's health & fitness after sustaining a serious back injury whilst training for the London Marathon, which left her paralysed from the waist down and requiring major back surgery.
She was given a 50% chance of ever being able to walk again, which, whilst having a 2 year old daughter was a real shock!
But, after 18 months of painful rehabilitation she was back to fitness & training again, although marathons were something she had to put behind her.
Now she runs for pleasure and able to run 2 - 3 miles at a time, loves HIIT, Zumba, kettlebell, body weight and weight training.
Having worked in the health, fitness and wellness industry for 28 years in both a clinical setting and as a PT/exercise instructor, she has helped countless women who need help to get through injury rehabilitation, surgery recovery and to get fit and lose weight.
She is passionate about healthy ageing for women especially as we transition through our menopausal years into our second spring, but after years of studying how we age, she has learned that for women to have an easier and healthier menopause, knowledge needs to be gained earlier than most of us would expect - in our teens to early twenties!
But that doesn't mean that it's too late for us to turn back the clock and begin a whole new chapter of our life with confidence and vitality, we just need to be guided in the right direction.
She currently has a women’s health and wellness clinic just outside Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk and offers in-clinic consultations & treatments as well as online consultations and courses to practically help women when they are struggling with the symptoms of menopause, such as weight gain, back pain, pelvic floor issues, shoulder and breast pain associated with posture and breast size.
