In 1863 Abraham Lincoln proclaimed that the black slaves of the confederate south would be free when they entered the unionist North states. When they entered they were authorized to claim their freedom as of right, backed by the US government. Similarly, when we enter into the life Jesus offers us we are authorized to claim as our own every blessing He died to provide us with, and our spiritual, psychological and physical healing is a part of those provisions.
