Why did the Jew cross the road…at Saturday’s Palestine protest? Columbia campus wars and defining Islamophobia

Why did the Jew cross the road…at Saturday’s Palestine protest? Columbia campus wars and defining Islamophobia

David and Sayeeda discuss the pro-Palestinian protests in London where the head of the Campaign Against Antisemitism clashed with police, as well as chaos on campus at Columbia University across the pond.
Are antisemitism and Islamophobia being ‘weaponised’ to shut down debate about Israel and Islam? And is having an ‘Islamophobia’ definition doing more harm than good, asks a top think tank?

Very good but MARRED by Baddiel’s constant interruptions

The subjects & range of the discussion are excellent, but Baddiel needs to change his behaviour. Since the first episode, he has been interrupting Sayeeda Warsi & talking over her. This is unfortunate, because he is less informed than she is. But in recent episodes, this has got much worse & his behaviour is now just appalling. Several of my family just won’t listen to these podcasts because his behaviour is so infuriating.

Baddiel constantly talks over points that Warsi is making, loudly, & won’t let her finish her point. This is bullying behaviour, & worse - because Warsi can fend for herself, kudos to her for it - worse, it derails the discussion & stops it developing.

He also likes to say, I don’t know much about this. That really isn’t a defence. Why doesn’t he go & inform himself.

Love it!

It’s refreshing to listen to the other side! Sayyda is so eloquent and polite. David annoys me sometimes when he interrupts her, even thought I’m often on his side.

Honest debate

The debate, discussion, questioning and information blend seamlessly to give an insight into very thorny issues, especially at this moment in time. I am very grateful to both presenters for the calm questioning and breadth of knowledge they present.
