Acorn to Tree Family Podcast with Ashmeeta Rama Madhav
Today, we spoke with Ashmeeta Madhav, author of :
“What’s Your Story? #1 Way to Create a New Reality With Your Thinking” Ashmeeta Rama Madhav is an educator, grief support
advocate/expert, entrepreneur, author, and lifelong learner. She
has been intimately acquainted with grief since her early
twenties, having experienced miscarriage, rejection, and the loss
of her parents and husband, which exposed her to a range of
profound emotions. Her story is one of love, acceptance,
forgiveness, gratitude, growth, and self-discovery, a narrative
that resonates with those who have faced loss or are on a path of
self-discovery following a loss. At the heart of her book, "What’s Your Story?" is her passion for helping others and sharing her
experiences. Through this book, she shares her journey
through grief and self-discovery to provide comfort and inspiration to those confronting similar experiences.
A word from Ashmeeta:
"Some information about my mission:
I am Ashmeeta Rama Madhav, a resilience and grief support advocate, educator, entrepreneur, author, and lifelong learner. I have encountered many life-changing experiences from my early twenties. Miscarriage, rejection, and death of my parents and husband have exposed me to emotions of intense grief. I felt stuck and lost, so I ventured onto the path of self-discovery. I've come to appreciate the importance of personal growth and understand how my thoughts shape my reality.
My passion for helping others and sharing my experiences is at the core of my book, “What’s Your Story?” Through it, I share my journey with grief and self-discovery; my message is to offer comfort, inspire, and guide others going through difficult times to find the strength and resilience to move forward and create a meaningful life. Experiencing loss does not mean the story of your life is over. It is the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. This experience does not have to define or destroy you. There is hope!”

Joe Rennison Got it Learning 2
Caroline Rennison - Co-founder
I have been involved in teaching for over 25 years and have experience across the complete primary age range. I moved from classroom teaching to work as a Senco. After completing the OCR Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia/Specific Learning Difficulties, I became a Specialist Teacher working across primary and secondary schools. The role involved assessing pupils, training school staff to deliver tailored support programs, and devising and running courses for teachers and teaching assistants.
Throughout my career, I have had a particular interest and passion in helping with literacy skills, including assessing and delivering programs that motivate and encourage children to read and spell. This led me to develop Got It Learning reading and spelling games that provide a quick and straightforward pick-up-and-play resource for use in the classroom and a way for parents and carers to have fun while helping their children. Games provide the repetition and reinforcement vital to support literacy skills and make learning enjoyable.
Joe Rennison - Co-founder
I have dyslexia, and growing up in school was challenging at times. Traditional learning methods like spelling lists and reading books differed from what I looked forward to. I remember playing a particular reading card game in an intervention group and really enjoyed it – and subsequently, my reading improved. Following college, I went to Bournemouth University to study for a BA in Business with Enterprise. After graduating with a first-class degree, I wanted to start a business to make a difference and help children like me. Starting a company with someone you can trust and a suitable skill set is always essential. Fortunately, my mum has over 25 years of experience in teaching and special educational needs. Together, we decided to start Got It Learning.
Got it Learning Website Link
In line with the National Curriculum and containing valid high-frequency words, Got It Games is a systematic synthetic phonics reading and spelling resource. It has graded stages to reinforce and consolidate knowledge. Use the assessment sheet to find the correct starting point. Adult support will ensure successful learning in a fun environment. Build up confidence with the reading version before introducing the spelling. Children must retain words to give them the best chance of winning. The special Got it! cards keep all players engaged right to the end of the game.
These games have target sounds in blue to help break down the fine sounds within words to support reading and spelling. While playing the five games, children are encouraged to read all words out loud and write all spellings, reinforcing phonic patterns. Picture prompt cards for all sounds help children to independently read the words and link the sound to the picture. The chosen font is simple, straightforward, and dyslexia friendly. The games are designed to help engage children, support concentration, and boost confidence.
