In this episode Ali and I chat about her journey from a life altering diagnosis to becoming a yoga teacher and embracing the principles of ayurveda.
Life can throw us so many curve balls. Ali was unable to get dressed herself in her 20’s due to spondylitis but now supports others in overcoming life challenges through movement, breath, and advocating rest. This episode will allow you to gain more knowledge on working with your body, nature and the seasons.
Ali is a traditionally trained Hatha yoga student, and teacher, with an alignment focussed teaching background. Completing her initial training in the holy city of Rishikesh, in the foothills of the Himalayas she deepened her understanding of yogic philosophy and Ayurveda which weaves into her classes alongside self-awareness concentrated asana practice. She understands that by tuning in and listening to your body you can find balance as you develop your own understanding of your true nature, your Prakruti.
Her slow, mindful approach focuses on functional movement and relaxation techniques, encouraging you to build awareness of and connection to self and beyond. Calling on her own personal experience with physical pain and stress she understands yoga has tools to offer everyone a way to a healthy balanced life free from pain.
