Love Island and its perfect cultural tensions

Love Island and its perfect cultural tensions

In a rare feat of mono culture, Love Island persists as the show that unites us all and sparks water cooler conversations across the world. But with its blatant lack of diversity, stagnated format, predictable twists and gender stereotypes it should be a total flop of a show. This week Megan and Cassie wonder what makes Love Island so popular, why it is such compulsive viewing and question the shows relationship with new sponsors.

Grand but not great

So glad Before Brunch is back in my feed although it’s definitely not as well researched as it used to be. Cassie is great but Megan is a bit cringe because all her “hot takes” about minimum 3 years old.

Traitors

Macy Gray and Bette Midler saying very basic and true statements do not make them transphobic. What a load of utter sh**e.

Disappointed.

What a truly dystopian world we are living in 🤡
