    Dr. Andy Galpin

    Dr. Andy Galpin

On this Episode we are joined by Dr. Andy Galpin. Dr. Galpin an author, a scientist, a teacher and a coach, who has a Phd in Human Bioenergetics and runs the Biochemistry and Molecular Exercise Physiology Lab at California State University. Beyond the huge depth of clinical research that Dr. Galpin is involved in, he's also worked with the likes of Mike Lee, Conor McGregor and Stefi Cohen. I asked Dr. Galpin to come on and discuss wearable fitness tech- it's a subject that has been greatly requested, and to my mind there's no better expert than Andy, having published his book 'Unplugged', alongside Brian McKenzie a few years back- by far one of my favourite reads on the matter. There's plenty here to think about- from HRV monitors, to heart rate training and sleep apps, and what we really set out to do was give you some pause for thought on how you can use these devices, without letting them use you. Enjoy!

    David Jackson

    David Jackson

On this episode we are joined by David 'Jacko' Jackson. Founding member of 'School of Calisthenics', alongside previous guest Tim Stevenson. Jacko is an Oxygen Advantage master breathwork coach, the juicy topic which was definitely the theme of our discussion. Jacko talks us through how discovering breathwork helped him come back from an injury which had seriously disrupted his quality of life, and which then lead him down the path of upgrading his fitness, using the power of the breath, and how he's now helping others to do the same.

We covered some serious ground, talking about the mechanics of breathing, common disfunction, and how you can make huge changes in your very next workout.

This one definitely warrants a part two, and believe me- it's already in the works.

    Shorts- Functional Bodybuilding

    Shorts- Functional Bodybuilding

Another entry intro our series of 'shorts'- bitesized twenty to thirty minute episodes covering a specific concept or topic. In this episode we look at 'functional bodybuilding'. What does the term mean? Who could stand to benefit from it, and how? And why a 'functional' style of training doesn't always result in the type of physique changes you might expect.

Calling all sports enthusiasts!

Andrew does a fantastic job with his interviewing, by asking the guests questions that require them to truly pause and think about. This leads to a stimulating conversation and provides many great answers.

Love AT’s energy. Great range of guests and topics covered.

Love this show. Didn’t expect that it would be as good week to week. AT is a great host, brings energy and his love for just being active to every conversation. The guests each bring so much energy and expertise. Particularly like that the over arching theme is not about getting skinny or getting swole, just about getting a little bit better all the time. Well done Bulldog, we’ll done AT.. keep it up!
