You probably need care support earlier than you think! Live longer and happier. Sarah Seaman explains

You probably need care support earlier than you think! Live longer and happier. Sarah Seaman explains

People don't get care early enough. They could live longer and be happier if they ask for help sooner.

On the Chasing Care podcast we speak to Sarah Seaman, founder of a specialist care provider Sarah's Carers, who shares her first hand experience of looking after her husband and the stark realisation that bringing in a carer was the best solution as his health deteriorated.

We explore the challenges of families on their personal journey of understanding how to best engage professional support for a loved one, when they should be thinking of doing so, and how best to introduce a carer into a family members life with compassion and grace.

A not to miss episode that touches on the heart breaking realisation that mum or dad needs care, and explains how early intervention will often allow the service user and family to better enjoy their time together without the stress or worry of inaction.

Is Equity Release right for me or just a quick cash fix? Nick Lovell of Concept Financial Services untangles the confusion.

Is Equity Release right for me or just a quick cash fix? Nick Lovell of Concept Financial Services untangles the confusion.

Hi, and welcome to the Chasing Care podcast. On today's episode, we're going to be looking at financing care.

There's a lot of talk in the marketplace and a lot of advertising going on out there, just as we speak, which is trying to persuade people to release money from their properties to look after themselves.

Nick Lovell of Concept Financial Services walks through the opportunity and pitfalls of releasing equity from your property to help fund personal care as we age.

We also look at all the reasons why you may wish to seek releasing cash such as a once in a lifetime trip to Australia or being able to retire early yourself to look after an elderly relative or to help one of your children get on the property ladder!

A must listen to episode if you do not know about equity release of think that its a way to get you to pay financial advisors with little benefit.

It couldn't be further from the truth!

For the purpose of authenticity we decided to leave the ringing mobile and Bruce the dog wanting to join the conversation as part of the podcast. The podcast was always meant to be a grass roots look at the community care sector. Today its also an uncut version. Enjoy the experience!

Myth Busting and The Paradox of Community Care in Todays Society with William Flint

Myth Busting and The Paradox of Community Care in Todays Society with William Flint

How often do we hear that care seekers, Local Authorities and the NHS, are unable to find care providers with capacity in a timely fashion?

We talk about bed blocking and the detrimental affect on individuals health.

In this episode the Chasing Care podcast explores a solution that has been developed by William Flint, a triple Outstanding CQC rated homecare provider and a business that has a 90+% retention rate of carers, who saw a 'gap in the market' that needed attention.

Pairly is an affordable application that could help Social Workers and Discharge teams to rapidly match need to availability whilst providing care providers a means to more effectively provide working hours to carers seeking to maximise their income.

If you are frustrated in your search for available carers or challenged in filling rotas, then this is a not to miss episode!
