Ep 241The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog : Do You Expect Us To Talk?

Do You Expect Us To Talk? returns with probably the biggest series yet. We start to take on the works of maybe one of the most prolific and famous directors of all time, Alfred Hitchcock. Starting with what is deemed as the first true Hitchcock film, The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog is set against a backdrop of a murderer on the loose, killing a different young blond woman every Tuesday night. A mysterious man, matching the description of the murder, turns up and rents a room from a couple . As suspicion rises the young stranger forms a close bond with the young blond haired daughter Daisy, causing tensions with Daisy's boyfriend and the lead police officer on the hunt for the killer.
Join Becca, Dave and Chris as we discuss the different versions of The Lodger, Hitchcock's themes coming through, Hitchcock's cameo, how crap the 2009 remake looks and of course Dune Part Two.

Do You Expect Us To Talk? Returns yet again and recaps the year gone by. Some of the films of 2024 we have covered previously, but we go back and cover what we remember of 2024. Apologies if we’ve missed your favourite or if we did but only to slag it off.

sound problems

Really enjoy this podcast, informative and funny. Would give it more stars ,exceopt for the poor quality of sound. With a few of the episodes I have had to give up listening as the quality of the sound is so poor you cannot hear what they are saying. As I say its a really great podcast and would tell people to give it a go.
