Sorry for the delay! Summer is such a busy time of year...as is the fall and winter and spring.  Really, all year is always busy! BUT we promise this episode is worth the wait.  Please welcome Katie Bishop, who is a punk rock, vegan edge, queer, femme, classically trained musician.  

We learned so much about the classical world, offshoots of the classical word, and what it's like to be a punk in the classical scene.  Katie's music highlights the importance of identity, implicitly and explicitly, incorporating themes of queerness, femininity, and bdsm & kink.  

And on top of it, we didn't even get to talking about the coffee house she is opening in Brooklyn!

We felt an urgency to get this episode out as soon as possible because of our guest, Maha from NO Man.  Maha is the daughter of Palestinian refugees, and she has been a lifelong activist for Palestinian rights.  In this episode, Maha gives a firsthand account as to what is happening to Palestinian people on a daily basis. She also shares a ton of resources to learn more about the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and what you can do to help right now.

Our guest this week is Kayla from the Winnipeg metal band, Vagina Witchcraft.  They spoke to us about what it was like growing up black and queer in the Winnipeg scene.  We also talked about Kayla's passion for poetry and using their poetry in their activism.  Kayla is a wealth of knowledge, and this episode sums up only a small part of their life in Winnipeg.  We hope to have Kayla back soon to discuss even more of their activism and work in Canada.
