Father Patrick Killilea, a priest of the same order as St. Damien of Molokai, talks with the Hawaii Catholic Herald about what it's like living in Kalaupapa, the remote peninsula on a small Hawaiian island where people suffering from Hansen's disease (formerly known as leprosy) were forcibly sent to all the way through the mid-20th century. Today there are a small number of Hansen's disease patients still living there.

Donna Aquino first started working at the Hawaii Catholic Herald right out of high school and has never left. She's the diocesan newspaper's circulation manager but also covers many other areas of the office including helping to proof each issue, many admin tasks, and being the first person you'd see when you visited the Herald.

Jayne Mondoy, the director of the Diocese of Honolulu's Office of Faith Formation, talks about the current catechist retreats she's doing on all the islands as part of the U.S. Catholic church's focus on the "Eucharistic revival," as well, as Hawaii moving the sacrament of confirmation to second grade where it is received alongside first Communion.
