For our last episode of the season, we highlight something Auroch has done for a few years now but never really spoken about much on the podcast – Steam Events! Since 2020, we have been running them yearly and it’s a pleasure to share that work with you all.

Auroch colleague and esteemed guest, Simon Marshall, joins Matt and Jess in the studio to talk about what Steam events are and how to run one if you are a developer looking to do your own. We cover the lows and highs (mostly highs!) and chat about why they’re worthwhile for devs and players alike.

And what do we aspire to achieve for the next generation of gamers?

Planetarium vibes

I really enjoyed this! Hearing about the development and processes behind this work is particularly interesting and very engaging. The content is spot on. The music is perfect. When the audio is just right, I got serious nostalgia. I'm a kid again, sitting in darkened planetarium lectures or listening to presentations at NASA. Unexpectedly wonderful! This is also particularly strong in the game trailer! There's only one thing I would say that diminishes this slightly. It's the poor sound quality during the interviews. You could use some temporary heavy curtains around the meeting room, and maybe record a little closer in to the interviewee, it would make such a huge difference. I'm really looking forward to hearing the next episode!
