The Magic Pill 04: Conspiracy theories in food

It’s our last week of looking at Pete Evans’ documentary, ‘The Magic Pill’ (thank goodness) and for our last episode we’re exploring why some people in health or nutrition end up donning a tin foil hat. Don’t forget to listen to find out which film we’re torturing ourselves with next!

The Magic Pill 03: Is food medicine?

The Magic Pill 03: Is food medicine?

People will get mad because we’re going to spend the entire episode telling you why food is not medicine. Doesn’t mean it isn’t important but this rhetoric is getting way too much air time recently, forming the basis of ‘The Magic Pill’ so let’s discuss why this statement is grossly unhelpful.

Excellent and informative

Love this podcast. Two knowledgable women sharing a sensible and nuanced perspective on these terrible documentaries- whilst also having a good laugh at some of the ridiculousness of them. Everyone should be forced to listen to the related episodes after watching any of these BS shows

It’s okay

I put 4/5 bc I love Pixie on insta but would’ve rated it lower if it wasn’t her. Scientific content is sometimes limited and not very detailed, lots of useless swearing, anti-vegan and anti-men stuff (some might call it feminism but I don’t think that’s what feminism should be about). It’s okay. Not very informative, sometimes entertaining, not always funny. 🤷‍♀️ will still continue listening though.
