Half: Discussion with LlamaDownUnder and Kakujo
This latest episode of Intelligame Club is a roundtable discussion about the game Half, by Emma Kidwell. If you haven’t already gotten to listen to the our developer interview, feel free to jump into that first to gain some insight as to what inspired Emma to create Half as well as hear her reflect on the process of taking lived experiences and communicating them through the medium of games.
This week I was joined by Intelligame moderator, Llama, and Brian, a Twitch and Youtube content creator who has recently written and published his first children’s book. The three of us dove into discussing this topic and game wholeheartedly, as all three of us are biracial and grew up with experiences similar to Emma’s.
What becomes apparent through our discussion is not only what poignant game Emma has created… but that the act of sharing experiences with those who can empathize is a powerful and, in many ways, therapeutic experience.

She Dreams Elsewhere - Interview with Davionne Gooden
In the launch episode of the new iteration of IntelligameClub, the team interviews Davionne Gooden about his upcoming game She Dreams Elsewhere. This game follows a woman name Thalia on a journey through Oblivion, a surrealist world seemingly attached to the real world and her mental health. CW: anxiety, depression, negative self-talk.
In this first episode, IntelligameClub Curator Jenny Windom and IG Founder Josh Boykin interview Davionne to learn more about his creative process and discuss the game! Afterwards, Jenny shares a set of discussion questions you can follow along with as you play the game's demo. The next interview will feature a roundtable discussion about the subjects covered in the game's demo.
