He studied theoretical physics, experimental psychology, and computer science at the University of Cambridge, and meditation and Eastern Philosophy in India.  His journey of awakening began in his late 20’s. After working for almost a decade at a top magazine in London, he was burnt out, miserable and lost. Feeling unable to continue, he left from his job, his home and his relationship with no plan. It was then that he came into contact with his two primary teachers Eckhart Tolle (Power of Now) and Ajahn Sumedho (Abbott of Amaravati Buddhist Monastery) and his life was never the same again.

In 1999, he began teaching yoga and meditation in UK prisons and went on to establish Battersea Yoga, one of London’s most renowned studios – with a community of over 40,000 students. Having moved on from Yoga studio life, Angus now dedicates his life to the teaching and embodying of awareness.

He does this through The Awaken Club, Mindfulness Teacher Training and Events & Retreats. He also runs a thriving private therapy practice, offering one-to-one sessions in London or online.

Angus is a father of four – and currently lives with his family in London, UK. There is no family dog as yet, but his daughter insists this situation is due for review.
