'The Relationship After' - Loving Again Post Breakup with Ali Hendry (Part 2)

'The Relationship After' - Loving Again Post Breakup with Ali Hendry (Part 2)

Welcome to part two of Bethanie Lunn’s conversation with holistic relationship coach, Ali Hendry. In this episode, Beth discusses ‘the relationship after’, when you try to love again post breakup and how frikkin hard it is!

At the same time as trying to fall in love - this time, perhaps in a different way to the way it didn't work out, you're also full of trying.  Trying to heal, trying to trust, trying to enjoy, trying to unlearn all the behaviours that were moulded in the last relationship. There's a lot of propaganda out there carrying messages such as, 'if it is true love, it won't be hard. It will just happen', but I'm calling BS on that.

Starting with Ali’s story on being twice divorced and ripping up the rule book when it comes to love, in this episode we discuss:

The impact of going through divorce “You are exactly where you need to be”
Getting support “I’m not an island” , “having those difficult conversations will help you”
Making relationships work “every relationship worth having takes work”
Attachment styles “different partners may bring out different attachment styles”

Labels, Pronouns and Gender Fluidity with Ali Hendry (Part 1)

Beth talks to holistic relationship coach, Ali Hendry - one of our favourite guests from series one (and yours so the data and the feedback tells us)!

Ali and Beth discuss labels, pronouns and gender fluidity. Beth can see movement in people starting to look at gender and preferences as fluid; unearthing a wave of authentic self-expression.

If you support gender, Ali shares how you can further educate yourself and support communities.

We discuss having fear of what you don’t understand, the power of self-awareness, compassion and curiosity.

    In this episode, we discuss:

Supporting the community “It all comes down to not assuming”
Why we need to use the correct pronouns “their pronouns are their identity”
Doing your own research “I’m part of the problem which means I can be part of the solution”
Discomfort in business and fear of getting it wrong “you’re going to get it wrong, so focus on compassion”
Gender as a social construct “I don’t get to tell somebody else’s story’
