Jamie's Ministry of Food - Banana Tarte Tatin

This is such a great recipe. The thing I love most about it is how simple it is. All you need to do is buy some ready-made puff pastry, split a few bananas in half and get something magical happening in the oven!

Jamie's Ministry of Food - Quick Salmon Tikka With Cucumber Yoghurt

I love this dish. If you’re a fan of chicken tikka masala, give this one a go. You might think it odd to use robust spice pastes on fish, but it’s very common in southern India. When buying your fish, ask the fishmonger to scale it for you.

Jamie's Ministry of Food - Sizzling Beef With Spring Onions And Black Bean Sauce

Jamie's Ministry of Food - Sizzling Beef With Spring Onions And Black Bean Sauce

This works best with rice that has completely chilled down or, better yet, been made earlier and kept in the fridge. But if you can’t prepare rice for this dish in advance, you can still cook it and pop it into the fridge while you’re cooking the rest.

Jamie's Ministry of Food - Chicken Chow Mein

This dish makes use of a tender, juicy Asian cabbage called bok choi, which is simple to cook and really tasty. You should be able to find bok choi in your supermarket but if not, then a nice litte gem lettuce or a handful or two of baby spinach works.

Jamie's Ministry of Food - Everyday Green Chopped Salad

Chopped salads are incredibly simple to make – you have to give them a go. If nothing else, they can offer you some chopping practice, so why not make something tasty while you’re practising your knife skills?

Very useful

Thanks Jamie! These little videos have inspired me to start cooking again, even when knackered after work! Cheers

Jamie Oliver

The recipes are simple but work well for food during the week. There is no excuse to purchase ready made food when these are an alternative.
I really like the way he is trying to encourage anyone and everyone to eat fresh food, be it simple or more complex. Unlike many other celeb chefs I really do think his goal is to ensure more people eat more fresh food and become healthier as a result. He should be encouraged in doing this seeing as schools seem to think this is no longer necessary.
As a series to encourage this then he has succeeded.

Brilliant

What a down to earth bloke! I love the way he explains every little detail which is excellent for a complete novice like me! I have made the fish pie and it was lovely. Jamie Oliver has given me an interest in cooking and I think his non arrogant approach is an excellent way of getting more people in the kitchen! If i meet ya I'll shake ya hand jamie!
