Join the Ladies at Ora, Berlin for a chat about Grenache. Often the supporting cast this grape also can take on a leading role with great charm and style. We all know grenache from Rhone blends often a first for many of us on our wine journeys but it has so much more to offer than the big and jammy reds we remember from our youths. From easy drinking rosés for hot summer days, elegant and smooth styles for heart to hearts over fine foods to big and bold to keep you warm on cool summer nights or wash down that grilled steak. Let us know what grenache is in your glass this summer!
This episode's wines:
Envinate Albahra 2018 - Almansa, Spain
Garnacha 'Valautin' Ca di Mat 2017 - Sierra de Gredos, Spain
Chateauneuf du Pape, La Bastide Saint Dominique 2017 - Rhone, France -
S3 E5 Flight to Switzerland
Join Guen and Emily as they take a flight to Switzerland by way of six bottles. An exploration rather than a tour, this week’s episode begins to reveal Switzerland’s wine identity. Hidden in plain site this region rich in resources and beauty has much to offer the curious wine drinker, with its proximity to burgundy and Jura, many indigenous grapes and a wine community with known for its excellent taste. As only 2% of wines are exported out of Switzerland they can be hard to get a hold of so very special thanks for this week’s wines goes out to the talented Enrico Antonioni of @vinsdelausanne, the great peeps @morenaturalwine and my lovely Swiss client who gifted me the Klus - Guen

S3 E4 Jura
In this, the first of hopefully more Jura episodes, the ladies try three bottles; a savagnin, a poulsard and a vin jaune. Darling of wine and food professionals the world over the Jura is a small and yet beguiling place. With classic beauties, hipster favourites, sometimes offbeat, umami and oxidative styles, the wines from this region are sure to light a spark in your glass whatever the occasion.
