Clear and focussed
I listen to a lot of true crime this podcasts really accomplishes where others dismiss, it looks at the law and how it applies to the case and proceedings It keeps the emotions of the case limited so you do not end up in a spiral of emotive responses.
Odd
I’ve been listening to this podcast’s reports on E Holmes trial from the UK, and it seems like they’ve been following a different trial. It might be me, British perspective or whatever, vagueness about US legal process, but I just can’t quite square Ethan’s comments on the trial with what I hear from other pods and read in reports. V interested to find out how this all pans out anyway. 🍿
Coda: so she was convicted on four counts and I stick with what I wrote above. I mean, the idea was absurd that someone should get off just because they are/were so deluded that their intent remains hidden - when the evidence that they misled is there in multiple actions and words. Still not sure why Ethan found that evidence so unpersuasive.
Questions remain about why Holmes was so deluded that her product (an ineffective solution to a non-problem) was so brilliant that it just had to work in the end and so the means by which she and Balwani hooked investors were justified… bought her own hype I guess. Qs also about why said investors didn’t stop to ask why this fingerstick test was so desirable. I’d rather have a needle in the crook of the arm and just look away any day. Anyway whatevs that’s enough from me
