    Loremen S3 Ep64 - Robin Ince - Grim's Ditch

    Loremen S3 Ep64 - Robin Ince - Grim's Ditch

Robin Ince (R4's Infinite Monkey Cage & The Cosmic Shambles Network) takes the Loremen for a meander along Grim's Ditch. On the way, they encounter everything from 1970s horror films to 1970s folk horror films. Plus some very lazy ghosts, a prophetic river and a film franchise that will doubtless rival the great trilogies (Back To The Future, The Godfather and Big Momma's).Loreboys nether say die!

    Loremen S3 Ep63 - April Fools' LIVE

Those mischievous Loremen celebrated April Fools' Day the only way they know how: a live stream! Listen in for tales of impossible frogs, the dangers of 'lad banter' and, of course, dead body hijinks. Think of this episode as a sort of Bank Holiday Weekend at Bernie's.*MOOIE WARNING KLAXON:* Mooie warning.Loreboys nether say die!

We meet Thursday October Christian and discover that paradise is not all it's cracked up to be.There's a lot to learn from this episode: when not to go to a party, how many Chuckle Brothers there were, and which is better, Tahiti or Norfolk?Loreboys nether say die!

    Loremen S3 Ep61 - The Birdcage, Thame

    Loremen S3 Ep61 - The Birdcage, Thame

James has dug up a genuinely spooky inn-based tale this week. The Birdcage is a 600+ year old public house with a fearsome ghost, a horrible history and a serious pigeon problem. Be warned, this ghost frightens women, children, Australians and pornographers alike. The Loreboys also encounter Batman's shabbiest foe, and wilfully denigrate the filmography of a beloved comic actor. (Sorry, Robin Williams.)Loreboys nether say die!

    Loremen S3 Ep60 - Amy Gledhill - Brother Jucundus

    Loremen S3 Ep60 - Amy Gledhill - Brother Jucundus

Old York, Old York. So York they named it York. Amy Gledhill (Radio 2, The Delightful Sausage, A Lovely Time) joins the Loreboys to delve into the story of York's original party animal: Brother Jucundus. He was a monk-about-town who took a little more of the holy spirit than was good for him. "Up, up, up we go!"This episode features a cut-out-and-keep joke that listeners can say whenever they are in York. (Unless James Shakeshaft is also in York, in which case he will be saying it.)Have A Lovely Time hereLoreboys nether say die!

Funniest Folklore Podcast

Proof that folklore can be fun! I love this podcast, the irreverent humour and use of storytelling never fail to cheer me up and help me learn new stuff into the bargain!

Beddersthedog ,

My very best podcast

I love this! Gentle, intelligent folk-lore based humour that makes you want to pull up your pinafore and start weeding potato fields whilst old Ned stomps the cider and Granny Parsley weaves poppets out of apples cores. But you can’t, because you’re a 47 year old history teacher and you’re stuck with the drudgery of central heating and penicillin. Sigh. Makes me giggle every time, cheers Loremen!

Ian.Kelly ,

Praise!!

I praise your political opinions!! (*reference to the previous episode featuring tulips and hats ;)
