    Devil's Dyke

    Devil's Dyke

We’re heading back to 2019 for this, the final episode of series 1. It’s December and we’re in Sussex to have a brisk winter stroll around Devil’s Dyke, which was VERY MUDDY (we found this out the hard way*).

A must-listen for fans of low budget Lion King re-enactments, folklore and flaming duffel coats.

*Some Will Duggan’s were harmed in the making of this podcast.

    Warwick Castle

    Warwick Castle

It’s a return to the Wars of the Roses this week as we lay sightseeing-siege to Warwick Castle, once home to the warmongering 16th Earl of Warwick, Richard ‘the Kingmaker’ Neville.

Expect archery, expect codpieces and expect us to get lost in a maze designed for children.

    The Whitworth Art Gallery

    The Whitworth Art Gallery

We’re up in Manchester, Will’s former stomping ground. Although the nostalgia need not end there as we’re in town to visit The Whitworth, an Art Gallery where the young Will used also used to woo the ladies.

Laura tries hard to overcome her scepticism about modern art and it’s probably worth warning you up front, not all of the art world’s darlings escape unscathed.

We've chosen not to release an episode this week so we can focus on the ongoing discussions around the death of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Our voices are not two which need to be heard right now so we're going to take this time to educate ourselves and we would encourage you to join us.

    Kew Gardens

    Kew Gardens

It’s March, well it isn’t, but in this episode it very much is. March the 11th to be precise and we’re going to Kew Botanical Gardens. Good news for two reasons, you can’t actually go there currently and we’re in the peak of Hayfever season; so, hear the flowers with us and save yourself the sneezes.

In this episode things get steamy in the conservatory when Will gets handsy with the plants and listen out for about 4 million plane cameos.

    Beeston Castle

    Beeston Castle

This week we head back to the start of the year and Cheshire to take a good look at Beeston Castle, an Iron Age fort atop a very steep hill. Apparently, the castle is the hiding place of Richard II long lost treasure but all we found were some A-Grade toilet facilities, a delightful view and a replica Bronze Age Roundhouse; where volunteers Andrew and Jackie tell us what’s what.

HannahJBG ,

National Treasures indeed

This is such a funny, light-hearted listen. Will and Laura are hilarious, as are their interactions with the kindly/villainous volunteers at the sites they visit.
An absolute joy to have discovered in lockdown!

Almost as good as being there

A really good idea for a podcast presented by two funny and engaging hosts. Loved the Richard III episode!

Fun and informative

I really enjoyed spending an hour wandering around Blenheim with Laura and Will, and I’m very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

They painted vivid pictures of their surroundings, with warm humour and frivolous silliness. I giggled and laughed out loud more than once. Lovely.
