Young mother and former GB youth swimmer, Alexis, agrees to enter NHS England psychiatric care following a family tragedy. She could never imagine that her three-day admission will turn into a three-year ordeal.
Then undiagnosed with autism, and often the subject of 24-hour surveillance as well as long periods in solitary confinement, Alexis descends to the darkest reaches of locked-in, psychiatric care. There, she encounters the kind of threat she never could have imagined in a secure mental health hospital. In a bid to break free, Alexis plots a daring escape.
Making it back to her daughter, however, will pit her against some of the most powerful institutions in the State, including the police.

Introducing... Unreliable Witness: Who is Ellie Williams?
It’s the height of lockdown, 19-year-old Ellie Williams claims on social media she's been raped and exploited by an Asian grooming gang across the north of England. Photos of her alleged injuries add to the outrage and the post goes viral - shared more than 100,000 times.
Social media rumours lead to attacks on Asian men and businesses in her hometown of Barrow-in-Furness. But when she's arrested for perverting the course of justice, things really explode and there are protest rallies and claims of a cover-up.
At her trial, the prosecution say she lied, faked text messages and even caused the catalogue of injuries to herself.
In season 6 of StoryCast, Sky News' Jason Farrell and Liz Lane, who reported on the case at the time, return to Barrow to investigate what could have led her to make these claims and if, underneath it all, there is some other truth buried among the lies.
With access to her family, police investigators and those most impacted by her allegations, we ask: Is Ellie Williams a villain - or a victim of something else? And what happened after the trial - once all the media attention died down and new allegations began to emerge?

Even worse ..Hell on earth you should look up Godden Green (EDU -Closed but now equally bad -Now been on TV …An entire year off hell ..Went for help only for a female Psych to tell me she did not believe I had been abused?Did I spit or swallow..I threw up 🤮 there and then I came out more flipping confused than when I went in .It was hell ,I developed Psychotic Depression because of this ?I thought I was contaminated-ECT nobody has a say they don’t tell you the risks ?I developed Epilepsy go in with one problem come out half dead majority of NHS hospitals are shut .None are any good they are in fact dreadful…All hell on earth .Would not wish it on my worst enemy also how can someone accidentally hang themselves ??In a Private Hospital?Have time to write a suicide letter ?Date it telling people that your sucidal and being told your attention seeking, and acting out .I need be dead or completely psychotic to ever step foot in any hospital I was told at 14 that a safe room a padded cell ?Seriously people need wake up ..I have had more PTSD ,anxiety and shoved with drugs that I did not want they did the same to me I was having so many meds injected every 20 mins nobody knew what day time etc it was ?I have never ever experience so much stress and trauma.I would rather go through the Abuse as a child than this ..I dropped to 32 kilos ?Given so many labels?I was in a shared ward ?In NHS in 2016 was horrendous a drugs den .MCAT ?I had no clue what that was ?One girl went shopping and came back really fast ..She said this was really awful not shopping, what’s MCAT ?Its flipping Dangerous Drugs ?Illegal crack was being openly given to really psychotic men ..Horrendous and that’s in 2016 I am never ever going back I personally have come to the conclusion that it’s DIY -Or DIE ..In both and none get a single star your not told what a psycho dynamic group is ?It was mixed group for S/A survivors …I managed one me and another girl both had a nervous breakdown taking me of Epilepsy Meds ..Etc then surprisingly I have a full blown seizure?I had no clue but this was in the middle of a group..Being false fed as an Anorexic is totally wrong this is force feeding as in holding your hands 5 people and pinching my nose …No normal human would ever do this and actually take pleasure in other peoples trauma.
Shocking
Alexis’s treatment after admission to hospital was utterly terrible, but it is extraordinary that it took so long to diagnose her. Before the end of episode 1, despite having no medical training whatsoever, I was convinced she was autistic.
Needs to be heard!
What Alexis went through is mind blowing. Exposing this has to be done and she is incredibly brave for doing so. Great research and compelling listen. Happy living Alexis x
