RETROHOLICS WATCHALONG EP1: A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS

A Charlie Brown Christmas: It's bound to be a white Christmas with this classic 1965 animated television special. The first TV special based on the comic strip Peanuts from creator Charles M. Shultz. Not only does this timeless special have the distinction of warming hearts young and old, but it has won both an Emmy and a Peabody Award. Whether you are seeing this holiday masterpiece for the first time or the first time in years, you have doubtless heard of that Ol' blockhead Charlie Brown and the little tree that could. Filled with mythology as the gang tries to put on a holiday play, we end up with a pretty decent dance party, a lesson for the ages and some good old-fashioned fun. As for the tree -- it's amazing what a little love can do. Happy Holidays!

    BUCKY O'HARE

    BUCKY O'HARE

Take an animated trip down memory lane with Retroholics. Though there are some great modern cartoons, there is something special, nostalgic, and everlasting about the more retro cartoons. Retro doesn't necessarily imply old, but more so a product of a different time, subject to its own temporally unique set of qualities and traits. These shows not only captured the hearts of its target audience, but had elements and concepts that still are relevant and engaging today!

Episode 1 Bucky O'Hare: "Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars" began in the mid-'80s as a comic book by writer Larry Hama and comic book artist Michael Golden between 1977 and 1978 about a green anthropomorphic hare who, with his crew of other mammals (including one human), fought toads in an intergalactic space war. In 1991, it became a animated TV series that ran for 13 episodes.
