Pamstee ,

Superb reporting!

Absolutely superb reporting of a terrible, potential miscarriage of justice, for both the victim and Andrew Malkinson.
In episode 5, the head of the CCRC repeatedly said she was “sure” her team had requested details about disclosures around two witnesses’ criminal records, but, in an email previously sent to the investigative team, the email trail confirmed this information had NOT been requested at all, so that assertion was clearly untrue.
Given the history of this very sloppy case, it begs the question, cover-up or conspiracy?
Whilst this is compelling listening, we need to know why there continue to be miscarriages of justice like this and WHY is this not being addressed in terms of tighter legislation and faster justice. No faffing at the front end when people are convicted..
We know prisons are full to capacity, so why aren’t potentially innocent prisoners having cases reviewed more quickly and efficiently? Why do pro bono lawyers have to make four or five submissions before reviews are undertaken?
British “justice” appears to be a complete disgrace and the usual bleat of “not enough resourcing” just doesn’t cut it. Relying on the amazing charities who do that work is just not acceptable in a so-called developed country like the UK.
Thank you again for this investigation! Can’t recommend it enough.

Well done for pursuing this story

It was a risky story to cover in many ways but you were entirely correct to. Skilfully produced podcast. And Andy, I’m so sorry this happened to you
