Absolutely love this podcast Very informative and interesting My children believe the narrator is AI They say that’s definitely not a human Which make sense as the monotone voice never changes or diverges from the script Still a fantastic podcast and I’ll continue to listen each episode
People complaining are wrong

I’ve listened to nearly every episode of case files and I do not pay for premium so I’m unsure what so many people are complaining about. Ads - you can fast forward it’s really simple, they all last the same length so you can fast forward the same amount each time. Subscribe for episodes - this is untrue, if you wait a week you get the 2nd part for free and given it’s a a weekly podcast I don’t see the issue. You’re also getting far more details and insight in a two parter than cramming it in to one. His voice - it’s monotone and a bit emotionless, yes that’s true but its very calming and doesn’t cut through or overtake the actual story. His voice 2 - the original narrator (tbh I think it’s the same person but has changed how he talks) used to do voices, scream when the victim etc would scream during their recollection and tbh it was really off putting and weird hearing a grown man pretend to be a child that’s just been assaulted. This is a very good and well thought out podcast, it’s clear and to the point and doesn’t really focus on how the victims felt or try to be empathetic towards anyone it just gives straight facts. If you love true crime you’ll love this.
Clear unbiased facts & excellent story telling

I’ve been listening to Case File for over 12 months and I’ve also enjoyed their one off series too. Honestly I didn’t realise how good it was until their break when I went off to find something novel yet similar. Some of the other podcasts out there heavily sensationalise, exaggerate and dramatise their retellings of crime. This podcast however is extremely impartial, honest and respectful. There are no irritating sounds and the background music is always appropriate. At first you might find Casey’s voice monotonous but I actually think it’s ideal for this type of delivery. So I ended up trailing back through some early episodes because it really is the best of the best. My only disappointment is that the narrator remains anonymous: I would love to personally thank him for his hard work because he (and presumably a team at this point) really do an amazing job! I would love to know why he occasionally over-pronounces his d’s at the end of some words but I guess I’ll never know! :-)
