Balanced & Brave
Really enjoying this podcast. I used to listen to The Rest is Politics and The Newsagents every week, but as the election has drawn closer, have found their positions too partisan. I have appreciated the dialogue here and the balanced views presented, while acknowledging the Telegraph readership’s leanings. Particularly appreciated the nuanced, respectful, and thoughtful way Camilla addressed the transgender topic recently. It takes bravery to speak candidly about this topic in today’s climate, especially if you are not aligned with a very progressive perspective. But it’s so necessary to keep dialogue open and respectful on this and many other topics.
Insightful and balanced analysis
The presenters’ very different styles and views make for a balanced but insightful look at the day’s news and the different Telegraph journalists and guests bring more expertise and variety. Makes a nice change from some other daily news podcasts which I find often see all the presenters agreeing. Looking forward to seeing what’s to come for this pod especially with the election ahead.
More Metropolitan elite podcasting
I was so looking forward to this. I really like Camilla and her writing is always insightful and entertaining. I had hoped that this would almost be like a daily Planet Normal.
However Kamal is just SO metropolitan bubble liberal elite that I can barely listen. He doesn’t seem to have a clue how both Telegraph readers and the majority of the public view the world. And Camilla doesn’t seem to challenge him enough effectively.
I’m all for hearing different views, but not when they are quite so blinkered. I really don’t know where to get that from - as almost all political podcasts these days seem to be liberal-left!
