    505. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Devil in Me, Marvel’s Midnight Suns

    505. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, The Devil in Me, Marvel’s Midnight Suns

It's podcast time, and we've got some huge games to talk about, like the new Pokemon title: the ninth generation is here. Adam has played all of Pokemon Scarlet, while Chris Hyde has played all of The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me.
Has Mick played all of Marvel's Midnight Suns? No. But he's allowed to give some brief impressions on it so far, so that's pretty exciting.

    504. God of War Ragnarok, Sonic Frontiers, Ghost Song

    504. God of War Ragnarok, Sonic Frontiers, Ghost Song

It's big-games season on the podcast. With God of War Ragnarok out now, and Sonic Frontiers also greeting the world, the biggest names in gaming are trying to wrestle coin from your wallet. Are they worth your time and money? We had to get Chris White in to talk God of War, of course, and Lyle and Adam have both been playing Sonic Frontiers, so can dish the dirt.
Meanwhile, indie games are still coming, and Humble Games continues its record with Ghost Song, another really nice title that nobody seems to be talking about, but we will! We had to pre-record this episode in advance due to timing issues, but hopefully we still got your questions in ahead of time and answered accordingly.

    503. Bayonetta 3, The Devil in Me, Resident Evil Village

    503. Bayonetta 3, The Devil in Me, Resident Evil Village

This week's podcast is all about games, there's a shock, right? Adam has been playing and enjoying Bayonetta 3, while Chris Hyde has completed the Rose DLC that comes with Resident Evil Village: Winters' Expansion. He's also been a naughty boy and played some scary stuff early in the form of The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, which is apparently the last one in the first season of that series.
Lyle has played Ghostbusters, the recently released multiplayer game, so there's a chance for us to hear about that, too.

    502. A Plague Tale: Requiem, Gotham Knights, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

    502. A Plague Tale: Requiem, Gotham Knights, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

We're well land truly into "big game season" on the podcast now, so much so that the lads had to take last week off to play this week's games. Adam has been playing Gotham Knights, and sadly doesn't agree with Chris White's review.
He's also put 25-odd hours into Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, which he did enjoy, but doesn't think is as good as it could have been. Chris Hyde, however, has spent 20-40 hours playing and guiding A Plague Tale Requiem. Can playing it for guides ruin his love for the game, or is this a game of the year contender?
Having taken a week off, I'm sure there will be LOADS of listener questions for listener correspondence, right?

    501. Elden Ring, Overwatch 2, Nier: Automata

    501. Elden Ring, Overwatch 2, Nier: Automata

How do you do a podcast after you hit episode 500? Well you talk about Elden Ring, for a start, which Lyle has finally bothered to actually play. How kind of him.

But Overwatch 2 is also out, and is having launch problems despite being great -- though by the time you hear this / read this, it's probably fine... right? Elsewhere, Adam has played Nier: Automata again on Switch and is as in love with the game as ever. Of course more listener correspondence comes in this week, so we'll get to that as well. Thanks!

    500. FIFA 23, Overwatch 2, The Spirit and the Mouse

    500. FIFA 23, Overwatch 2, The Spirit and the Mouse

Who would ever have thought we'd make it to 500 episodes of a podcast. Well, me. Because I've been on most of them, and also because technically we're nearer 600 that 500, but we haven't numbered a lot of the episodes due to them being "game of the year", or "extra" or "bonus" episodes, or even spoilercasts. Regardless, it's episode 500. The 500th birthday of the best podcast of all time. That's right, each episode is a birthday for a podcast. Did you know that? You do now.
Anyway, aside that, it's also someone else's birthday, which means a special birthday-boy special surprise and choice must be made. FIFA 23 is out now, which we've played, and so is The Spirit and the Mouse, but mostly we decided to do some naval gazing this episode and answer questions and talk about ourselves. Who would have guessed.
In all seriousness, I love that I get to chat to my friends each week about games and it's considered work. Thanks to anyone who's ever appeared on an episode, under whatever guise that episode took; thanks to everyone who's hosted, or been on the show. It's a big old milestone, in truth, and I'm pretty sure that if I did some research I could claim we're the longest running / most regular / most episodes of a UK gaming podcast, but that'd require, as I say: research, and I'm a "games journalist", so I won't be doing that. Lol. Love you.

Best Gaming Pod

Quality gaming pod delivered by a hard working, down to earth team. Highly recommended for anyone wanting the latest news, reviews and previews. One of the highlights of my week 👍

For the boys

Good discussions about games from 4/5 guys who are clearly passionate about gaming. Unfortunately, they’re also fairly passionate misogynists and the host hasn’t finished a sentence that I can recall. If you’re male and into games, you’re the target audience - you might like it.

This podcast is an excellent mix of witty banter, gaming news and opinions, and a lot of laugh out loud moments. The people involved are so passionate about what they do and have great chemistry. If you’re looking for a new gaming podcast, then this is a fantastic one. Highly recommended!
