Addictive History Podcast
I wanted to find out more about Croatia on a recent trip (it turns out Croatian history is inextricably linked to the other Balkan states) so I gave this a go. I was astounded by the depth of knowledge and research for the region and listened for lots of back-to-back episodes. It would be so easy to get lost and bored in the complications of the events but the delivery is rye, charming and also tongue in cheek at times, which keeps things fun. I also liked the interviews that broke up the narrative really well, which are conducted with humility and a shared passion for the history. I’d highly recommend for anyone wishing to know more about the Yugoslav region.
Exceptionally well researched and told.
Thank you very much for this exceptional history of the Slavic Balkans, the Ottoman and the AustroHungarian empires. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested or has personal ties to the region. Well done Alex! This is an absolute masterpiece.
Very Good
Started listening to this a couple of years ago when on holiday in Slovenia. It’s always high quality and engaging. I’ve learnt so much I don’t know that I didn’t know. Just wish episodes were more frequent.
