Clean Energy View: F William Engdahl -Myths, Lies & Oil Wars - Sep 20,2012

Clean Energy View: F William Engdahl -Myths, Lies & Oil Wars - Sep 20,2012

The myth of oil scarcity is one of the foundations that have allowed four giant oil corporations along with a handful of Wall Street banks to control the worlds largest and most essential commodity: oil. The myth originated in the 1950s from a speech by a geologist at Shell and was revived in 2003 at the time of the US bombing of Iraq. The reality is quite different from the claims of Peak Oil. In reality, the world is running into oil and not running out of oil. Huge new oil and gas fields are being discovered from the eastern Mediterranean to the coast of Brazil, from East Africa to Iran and Iraq, from Norway to the Caribbean. In F. William Engdahl's newest book, "Myths, Lies and Oil Wars” discusses the little-known details of wars and manipulations designed over the past half century or more up to the wars in Africa, the Arab Spring, Iraq, all to maintain a lock-grip control of the worlds known oilfields. The myth of scarcity has been a pillar of their power and as a result, propaganda for their self-serving agendas. Tune in to this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, as host, June Stoyer is joined by special guest F. William Engdahl.

Clean Energy View: "Wild Design" The Ethos of Sustainability - Sep 18,2012

Clean Energy View: "Wild Design" The Ethos of Sustainability - Sep 18,2012

In Wild Design, environmental designer and scientist Alan Marshall presents a manifesto on nature-inspired designs, including visionary concepts as well as exhibits of actual products, landscapes, and artwork from around the world. With elegant photographs and drawings, the book incorporates the ethos of sustainability by documenting many of the results of the Ecomimicry Project, an international experiment in eco-design that marries the skills of local artists and ecologists from Western Australia and the Carpathian mountains in Eastern Europe. All of the designs treat nature as an inspiration for eco-friendly innovations. Among the fascinating possibilities: a bike helmet based on the crustacean exoskeleton, a heliotropic house, and a car fueled by algae. Marshall argues that design should be the responsibility of all, not just a technological elite, and it is in this spirit that he offers this timely, important book. In this segment of The Clean Energy View Radio Show, host, June Stoyer talks to designer and scientist, Dr. Alan Marshall about his best-selling book.
