Gen Z - people born between 1997 and 2012 - are the post Brexit, post financial crisis, post austerity generation. So what do they think and what could that mean for policy makers?

Great but NHS episode was shaky

First this is a very good pod and has had some great guests.

Loses a star after NHS episode. I have working knowledge of both primary care and economics. The idea that patients can shop around is - frankly - laughable. Also if you buy a dodgy car and it breaks down you don’t go back to the same garage. What do you do if your heart operation doesn’t work???

There is no evidence that ‘choice’ improved performance at all. Was likely just increased funding.

Worrying that a professor didn’t understand need for evidence, peer review and challenge, and his own bias.

Central command combined with operational autonomy is how the army works - probably the best model for the NHS.

And your guest was excitedly awesome
Lots of clear concise facts

CliveP2 ,

Insightful and very educational.

The podcast will help to understand the the welfare challenges to society as we have increasing demands.
