You’re invited to a live event Dec 11 at 7 pm PST!!

On Dec 11 2022 Dr. Daniela Castillo (vegan vet extraordinaire!)  will be interviewing me about my ethical journey into the veterinary  profession. This will be highlighting what veterinarians who are vegan and/or animal rights activists experience during vet school and beyond. Fighting against animal cruelty especially within the veterinary profession can be traumatizing, lead to depression and so often you  are fighting alone.  Our Honor  (www.ourhonor.org) was created by veterinarians who are fighting against the inhumane treatment of animals within the veterinary profession,  and to support others that are fighting against animal cruelty as well. This is groundbreaking.  If  you want to hear more about it tune in on Sunday night December 11 at 7 PM (PST) Register for free at discussions.our honor.org. Hope to see you there.

Lar Par: more than a change in her bark

Lar Par: more than a change in her bark

Have you heard of Laryngeal Paralysis ?  Most pet parents actually haven’t. It is a disease that affects the nerves innervating the muscles of the larynx, causing breathing difficulties, changes in voice and more. It can start with things as common as a change in Your dogs bark or cats meow, and  increased panting.   We  most commonly see this condition in older large breed dogs particularly in the Labrador retriever, but Lar Par can  also be seen in some breeds earlier in life. It is a very serious progressive disease that often goes undiagnosed because  pet parents are unaware that there is anything wrong. So Dr. V is talking all about it to help raise awareness. Have a listen!
