Voices from Herriot Country - Episode 7 - The Rising Star Voices from Herriot Country
-
- Society & Culture
Welcome to the SEVENTH episode of 'Voices from Herriot Country', a new podcast about Yorkshire characters 50 years after the first 'James Herriot' book about life as a rural vet was published. Alf Wight (his real name) soon became a bestselling phenomenon. There were two films based on his books, as well as the popular BBC TV series, 'All Creatures Great and Small'. Who could ever forget that theme tune. And now there's a new Channel 5 TV series to enjoy too!
In our seventh episode we have a special link to the new 'All Creatures', with 13-year-old Imogen Clawson. The bubbly Yorkshire schoolgirl appears as Jenny Alderson, sister to Helen, the woman vet James Herriot has his heart set on. Imogen loves sport, sewing and cooking. But above all, she loves acting and had a wonderful time (in between lessons!) on set in the Yorkshire Dales. Hope you enjoy listening to The Rising Star.
